Horn tooting will only attract attention if the listener is inclined to listen; otherwise the sound is distraction or annoyance.

A newspaper article is different -- people can elect to ignore, read, or respond as they will. So the response to the Dec. 21, 2008 Lincoln Journal-Star article by Joannie Cradick about this year's "Avenue of Trees" is gratifying. It brought visitors from as far away as Lincoln -- despite the unfavorable weather.
