Those who know my packrat ways will find it implausible that I'd pitch something. But it is true that paper files are moving to recycle.
One folder included late 1980s materials about "hyper-text" -- which eventually evolved into the .html (hyper-text markup language) standards which made the World Wide Web possible. One piece described a project that would create a searchable database of J.S. BACH music. I recall seeing a demonstration of the project.
Just for hoots, I checked to see whether that 1988 research article is on the web. The citation is -- but it does not link to a full text of the article.
As I remember the demo, one possibility for searching was by musical phrase using a MIDI device -- to make that work the whole of BACH's musical corpus would have to be entered into MIDI files.
