It is fun and informative to plug unusual phrases or word pairs into search tools like google and see what turns up.



I was experimenting with text editing and background highlighting in L2NE's pbwiki exercise, and decided to search google/images for "tinted emoticon."
A few clicks into the result set, a link to a NASA instruction on how to generate B&W 3-D images appeared.

Now I did not set out to learn how to generate B&W 3-D images, but this is something I might want to try. (And so might you!) Years ago I lived in a boarding house for one college semester. A couple of the other residents were engineering students who were working with the then brand-new hologram technology. Shazam indeed.
