Deforestation

The 2008 Avenue of Trees display offically ended today, and most of the trees were removed during the course of the day. The Elmer Baker Memorial Display Case creche display also was packed away.

People are starting to ask for the 2008 tax forms. The printed forms and instructions from the Internal Revenue Service and the Nebraska Department of Revenue will be slowly arriving in the near future -- but not fast enough for some folks.

The Federal and State tax collectors are trying to encourage people to switch to electronic on-line filing. This would reduce the expense for printing and distributing the printed forms and instructions, and the agencies claim it will make the process go faster.
