Wacky Wiki

One item found by doing a google search for "wacky wiki" discusses how wikis' collaborative core makes them susceptible to pranksters and vandals.
Rules for participation and consistent editorial oversight can manage that type of disruption.
Another issue with wikis is getting sufficient participation to make them viable.
As I've noted previously, a few public libraries around the country have started "community wiki" projects. The Stevens County wiki sponsored by the Stevens County Rural Library District in northeast Washington State is one example. It appears to have been started in 2006 and had very little substantive addition in the last quarter of 2008.

An analytic comment by one of the L2NE participants noted how blogs and wikis could be alternate modes of addressing internal information sharing / communications needs.
