Out And About

Most communities of any size have people who everyone knows, and people less well known.

If you asked every local resident to write down a dozen well-known individuals' names there are a half dozen or so who would be on nearly every list. I don't know if any of these folks stopped by the York Home Show today (very few people did because of today's snow). But several of their names came up in one way or another.

Authors and their works experience the same phenomenon. The library's "booth" at the home show has a few old favorites on display, some new pieces, giveaway items for the kids, and demonstrations of a few things.

There is no internet access in the City Auditorium basement, so that avenue is closed. But we have some bookmarks and a couple of page printouts to let people know what we have available on the web. Home_show_3

We see many familiar faces and some new ones; it is always fun to engage folks in conversation and see how libraries impact lives.
